Dreamed of creating characters for animation or comics? Curious about the whole process of not only creating your own series but also writing your own backstory for your characters? Then you will love this fun, engaging, course!
First, we will brainstorm a character and write about the world they live in. Then, we’ll draw a ‘model sheet’ of your character so we know exactly what they look like, because you draw your characters a lot and you want them to look the same! We’ll go over what kinds of storytelling mediums are out there for you and your creations. This is a great course for future animators, game designers, and comic artists.
All materials will be provided!
Hello my name is Joe M Ryan. I am a 2018 graduate of the Joe Kubert school. I’ve always been interested in art, ever since I was a kid. For many years I was self taught until I attended a three year program at Joe Kubert. After I graduated, my art progressed to a professional level that won me many opportunities. I have worked doing caricatures for weddings and graduations and fundraisers. Additionally I have worked alongside a team of small creators doing sketch cards for Both Rusty Ink and a publisher out west named Bianca Thompson and Horrendous Magazine in Tannersville PA as well as the Kickstarter Not So Fair Tales. Currently I am working on self publishing my first graphic Novel titled “My Life With An 80s Girl” on comixplex.com
Character design and animation is a passion of mine and I want to share it with as many aspiring artists as I can!
