Experimental Drawing and Painting with Margaret Grasso

July 6 – 10th
10am – 12pm
Grades 1 – 6
This is a process oriented, guided draw & paint class. See what happens when you layer watercolors over crayons, when you use sea salt, or saran wrap on wet paint. Discover how tempera paint is different than watercolor, & Color Splash liquid watercolors work.
Experience paint pens, water-soluble crayons, oil pastels & chalks, see how different brushes work, & use paint scrapers, sea sponges, stamps, & stencils. We’ll create a variety of projects: large & small pictures, accordion books, cards, wind socks, & collage (cut & glue our own painted papers ).
I am an experienced K-12 art teacher of 28 years. I also substituted 12.5 years for art teachers K-12 in Pine Bush and Valley Central Schools, plus 3 years teaching summer art classes at WRCA! Creating my own paintings and teaching art is a lifelong passion for me. I share this joy and knowledge with the students, and they feel the creative energy with me!
