Whether its realistic, stylized, or imaginary, animals are my favorite subject! We’ll be using guide books, photos, and references for observation. We’ll even try simplifying them into stylized animals too! Imaginary animals are a big favorite. We can make our own with watercolor ‘blobs’, cut paper, strings, tape, or nature items. We will work on watercolor paper, wood, fabric, and canvas. We will be using pencils, pens, watercolor, acrylic, scissors, glue, and more. You’re going to have fun here!

I am an experienced K-12 art teacher of 28 years. I also substituted 12.5 years for art teachers K-12 in Pine Bush and Valley Central Schools, plus 3 years teaching summer art classes at WRCA! Creating my own paintings and teaching art is a lifelong passion for me. I share this joy and knowledge with the students, and they feel the creative energy with me!
