Creative Art Journals with Margaret Grasso

Mixed Media Art Journaling is a personal adventure…. a way to express your feelings, memories, and ideas. Working “intuitively” (without any preconceived plan), we’ll start with a prompt to get us thinking… then we’ll draw, doodle, color, collage, or paint, add a word or phrase, layering, stenciling, stamping…. then onto another page, another day.
I will show you how you can make your own Art Journal with mixed media & watercolor paper, sewing the folded papers together, & adding a cover, maybe some beads on the hanging strings. We can make some of our own painted papers to collage with also. Who knows… one of those pages may be an inspiration for a painting you’ll create !
I am an experienced K-12 art teacher of 28 years. I also substituted 12.5 years for art teachers K-12 in Pine Bush and Valley Central Schools, plus 3 years teaching summer art classes at WRCA! Creating my own paintings and teaching art is a lifelong passion for me. I share this joy and knowledge with the students, and they feel the creative energy with me!
