Artist, curator, and arts administrator Elizabeth Keithline has been at work in the art world since she graduated Emerson College in the 80’s. Join her to discuss your goals. Do you want a connection with galleries or museums? Are you trying to get press or shows? Let’s unpack your questions about how to further your career!

About Elizabeth Keithline | Artist and arts administrator Elizabeth Keithline’s work focuses on human self-extension and human systems of all kinds – architecture, technology, cars, the modern built environment – particularly as those systems tie to the natural world.

She has shown widely in the United States including solo shows at ChaShaMa NYC, Governors Island NY, the Peabody Essex Museum, the Danforth Museum, the Newport Art Museum, Jane Street Art Center, the Waiting Room in New Orleans, Blue Star Contemporary in San Antonio, ArtPrize Grand Rapids, Real Art Ways in Hartford, and UMass Amherst. Her work has been well reviewed in the New York Times, Sculpture Magazine, Hyperallergic, the Boston Globe, Fiberarts, and others.

Doing business as Wheel Arts Administration, Keithline has connected artists to opportunities through the following:

She has curated exhibitions for Mark Miller Gallery, SPRING/BREAK Art Show, Boxo Projects NY, Mobius Boston, and Wheaton College. From 2008–2021, she was the RI State Council On the Arts Percent for Art Director; the Project Grants to Organizations Director; and from 2014 to 2021, the State Cultural Facilities Grants Director, managing a budget of $45 million. Most recently in the Hudson Valley, she served as Exhibitions Director at the Woodstock Artists Association and Museum from 2021 to 2024, and she recently assisted McGregor Consulting with its public art plan for the City of Kingston.

Other clients include the New England Foundation for the Arts, the Barr Foundation, the Downtown Boston Business Improvement District, Art in the Park Worcester, the Providence Foundation, the Gilbane Corporation, and the Charles River Conservancy. Keithline has written for Sculpture Magazine, Public Art Review, Art New England, and the Americans for the Arts blog.
