DESCRIPTION:August 2\, 9\, 16\, 23rd \n\nFridays 3:30-5:30pm\nIn Person at the Wallkill River Center for the Arts \nOpen to beginning and intermediate students \nSuitable for grades 6th – 12th \n$140 per student \nAnimation Class Preview \nAnimation is the art of bringing your drawings to life! Whether you’re interested in traditional animation\, game animation\, anime\, 3D animation\, or just want to make your doodles move around with style\, this class is for you. Students will learn about the principles of animation\, and how to apply their knowledge in creative ways. They’ll see how observing the natural world can bring their animation skills to the next level. And most importantly\, it’s gonna be a lot of fun! \nAedan Ciganek is an up-and-coming animator from the Hudson Valley. He has a passion for 2D animation\, cartooning\, and character design. Since 2014 he’s been honing his craft\, and loves encouraging others to enter the world of animation. \n  \nThere is a class set of tablets available to use. SUMMARY:August 5 - 9th Kid's Printmaking with Jodi Doster
DESCRIPTION:August 5 – 9th \n10 am – 12 pm \nGrades 3rd – 7th \nLocation:  Wallkill River Center for the Arts Gallery \nCost: $135 per student \nIn printmaking\, students will make copies of an image that they have created from various sources of their choosing. They will then transfer the image and use carving or impressing the design in linoleum\, styrofoam\, or foam board and transfer the image on to new surface. Students will use ink or paint to transfer images. Student will create an Andy Warhol style print using two to three linoleum cuts positive and negative carvings using different colored inks when printing. \nBecause we’re working with ink\, it may stain! \nAll materials will be provided! \n  \n \nJodi Doster had been teaching science and art at Bristol Bay Borough Middle/High School in Nanek\, Alaska for 18 years .  She is also an Adjunct Professor for the University of Alaska Fairbanks where she teaches biology and art. Currently\, Jodi has retired to the Montgomery NY area to continue teaching art at a slower pace. DESCRIPTION:August 12 – 16th \n10am – 12pm \nGrades 3rd – 12th \nYou can create beautiful\, colorful and imaginative paintings without using realistic images.  Margaret will show you how to loosen up\, relax and enjoy the process of expressive painting using water based paints and collaging your own painted papers.  Experience how to work “intuitively” (with your own feelings)\, layering colors\, lines\, shapes\, and mark-making.  Guiding you through the processes\, you will create your own unique style\, using brushes\, scrapers\, ink-pens\, markers \, gel-crayons\, paint pens\, water color paints\, inks\, and fluid acrylic paints. \nCome join us for an AWESOME week of colorful painting!  All materials provided! \nI am an experienced K-12 art teacher of 28 years. Darts and Blasters will be provided\, but you’re free to bring your own if they take standard darts. Compete in an array of games to build cooperation skills and coordination.  Lots of group games assisted by Nerf Camp grads who come back to volunteer. \nWater will be provided\, but please bring beverages and a snack.  Be sure to wear sunscreen and bug spray if desired.  Eye protection will be provided\, but you are welcome to bring your own goggles or sunglasses. \n  \n \nThe rest of the year Matt Donaldson is a K-12 Phys. They have created many works of art that we can create art of our own with! From Picasso’s abstract faces to Van Gogh’s sunflowers. Close up flowers like Georgia O’Keefe and cut-out collages like Henri Matisse. We’ll be discovering artists\, their styles\, and what inspires us about their artwork. This class will use paint\, scissors\, glue\, and other materials. \nAll materials provided! \nI am an experienced K-12 art teacher of 28 years.
