SUMMARY:2025 Annual Members Meeting
DESCRIPTION:Please join us virtually\, via Zoom\, for our Annual Members Meeting on Saturday\, January 25\, 2025 at 3:00 pm   \nMembers:   If you were a member in 2024 or joined and paid your dues for 2025 by December 31\, 2024\, please return your BALLOT by email\, mail or in person before the meeting date.  If there is ANY CHANCE you may not be able to attend the meeting on Zoom\, please sign and return your PROXY. \nWhat is the Proxy and why is it important?  A proxy is a substitute for a member being present online at the meeting.  Our by-laws require us to hold an annual members meeting and we must have enough of our members\, or their proxies\, present to conduct the meeting\, otherwise\, we will have to reschedule and try to get enough people the next time.  On the proxy form\, you can assign your vote to the board of directors or you can name an individual to vote on your behalf if you are sure they will be present online at the meeting.  Help us by returning your proxy\, but still attend the meeting if you can.  At the meeting we present detailed information to give you a window into how the organization is functioning financially and providing services to the community.  We want to see you! \n  \nAnnual Members Meeting Notice \nBallot \nProxy \nAnnual Members Meeting Packet \nAgenda of 1-25-25 \nAnnual Report \nMinutes of 1-27-24 \nGallery Calendar \n  \nThis will be updated with links when they become available.

DESCRIPTION:PROSPECTUS:  Likeness\nSUMBISSION FORM \nTHEME & GUIDELINES: Portraits are forever. They capture the likeness of the human subject they are portraying. It may be through a visual similarity with the sitter or the ephemeral essence of the subject. Portrait artists bring all kinds of intangible aspects to their work. The fact that we can look at a painting done hundreds of years ago and feel a kinship with the sitter\, in our contemporary moment\, is a testament to the power of portraiture. \nThe work will be juried anonymously by Carl Grauer. \nArtwork work may range from realism to non-representational abstraction\, all 2-D media are welcome. 3-D artwork both wall hanging and free standing will be considered. (Space for sculpture is limited\, see size restrictions) All artwork must be original. \nPrizes: $300 Best in Show and four $50 Honorable Mentions. \nDATES: \n\nDeadline for Entries: Oct 27 2024\nNotification of Jury Results: Nov 3 2024\nDrop-off or Delivery: Sunday\, December 8\, 2024\nExhibit Dates: Dec 20 2024 thru Jan 26 2025\nReception: Saturday Jan 11\, 2025 3-5:00 pm\nPick-up or Ship Starts January 31\, 2025\n\nINSTRUCTIONS & TERMS: \nJury fee is $35 for up to three pieces.  Fees waived for WRCA Artist Members (please contact the reception desk). \nWe require clear digital images. Images should be standard color jpeg. The gallery reserves the right to reject works which differ significantly from the digital image. \nMEDIA: All 2-D and 3-D media will be considered. \nSIZE: maximum frame width is 30 inches\, maximum frame height is 40 inches. 3-D work may not exceed 14×14 inches wide and 24 inches tall. Artwork weight may not exceed 40 pounds. \nFRAMING: Work must be wired and ready to hang. Our hanging system requires artwork to have a metal wire hanger. Ideally the artwork’s hanging wire should be 2 inches below the top. The gallery reserves the right to reject works that are not ready to hang. Works that will not be accepted: unframed works on paper\, magnet hanging systems\, work which require nails\, dogtooth/saw hangers\, fishing line\, tape\, yarn\, string\, etc. All works must be legibly labeled with the artist name on the back of the piece. Orientation of artwork should be indicated if not obvious. \nRESTRICTIONS: Work must not have been previously exhibited at Wallkill River Center for the Arts. All artwork must be original. Reproductions\, such as giclee prints of paintings\, will not be accepted. Photography and printmaking works should be created in limited editions. Artwork must be submitted by the artist or the authorized agent of the living artist. All artists must be over the age of 18 and reside in the United States. AI generated artwork will not be accepted. \nGALLERY COMMISSION: WRCA collects a 30% commission on sales. If a piece sells\, a check will be mailed for 70% of the sales price within 30 days of the show closing. Individuals who have over $600 in sales will need to provide a federal Form W-9 before their check can be issued. WRCA will collect sales tax and make the appropriate sales tax filings. \nPRICING: Artists set the sales price for their work. Portrait commissions generated by the exhibit are handled through the gallery and will be charged a 30% commission. \nLIABILITY: Wallkill River Center for the Arts will not be responsible individually or collectively for damage or loss\, regardless of the cause\, to any artwork submitted under this agreement for exhibition and/or sale at WRCA Gallery. WRCA recommends that all work be framed traditionally with varnish\, glass or acrylic to protect the surface and sides of the artwork. It is suggested that artists carry their own insurance. \nPHOTO RELEASE: Artists give permission for their work to be photographed for promotional purposes and online sales and do not hold the gallery responsible for any unauthorized use or photography. \nAGREEMENT: By applying to this exhibition\, artists agree to the terms and conditions detailed above. \n\nSUMBISSION FORM \n
