DESCRIPTION:A benefit of membership\, WRCA Artist-level Members are invited to hang one piece (two dependent on space) in our changing Hallway Gallery Exhibits. \n  \nEXHIBITION GUIDELINES \nArtist-level membership (in good standing.) Not a member but want to participate? JOIN TODAY \nArtwork must be no larger than 16 x 16 inches (including the frame)\, properly framed\, and be ready to hang with a wire. DESCRIPTION:Figuratively Speaking: A Regional Exhibition Juried by celebrated artist John McGiff\nNovember 14 – December 20\, 2026 \n  \nCALL FOR ARTWORK | Submission Deadline: October 19 \nPROSPECTUS\n  \nThe inclusion of the human figure in image making is as old as art itself. How do we see ourselves\, how do we see others? What’s their story; Is it like our own or different? With all the special attributes that make each of us an individual\, the one truth that we can’t get around is that we all share humanity\, for better or worse. Tell us a story. \n  \nAbout the Juror:\nJohn McGiff is a painter and teacher based in Dutchess County\, NY. John received his B.F.A. from SUNY Purchase\, winning the Dean’s Commendation for Painting and Drawing\, and an M.F.A. from the University of Pennsylvania. John has received two fellowships in painting from the Delaware Division of the Arts in painting as well as residency fellowships in Brittany\, France\, from Maryland Institute College of Art (MICA). He currently shows his work in galleries in Wilmington\, Lewes\, and Rehoboth and has had exhibitions at The Delaware Center for Contemporary Art and The Delaware Agricultural Museum as well as various other Mid-Atlantic venues. \n  \nImage: John McGiff\, Icarus Awakens in the Garden (detail)\, gouache on canvas
