PROSPECTUS: 2024 Members Exhibit
THEME & GUIDELINES: This show is open to any Wallkill River Center for the Arts (WRCA) Member who has renewed their membership for 2024. Artwork must be wall hanging with a wire hanger. Artwork may be in any medium and of any theme.
DATES:
- Drop offs Due: January 28th 2024
- On display February 2nd – February 26th 2024
- Reception: February 10th 3:00 – 5:00 pm
- Pick-up Starts: March 1st, 2024
APPLICATION PROCESS:
- Max of 1 submissions per artist.
- Artists participating in the Teachers Exhibit may not include a piece in the concurrently running Members Exhibit. Please chose one exhibit only.
- Maximum size 16″x20″ (unframed size). If you have trouble complying with the size restriction, please contact Sarah Fortner Pierson to discuss. Frame cannot exceed 2 inches on each side.
- We will require the following information for each piece: Title, Medium, Size (in inches, not including the frame), and Price (if the piece is not for sale, enter “NFS”) to be written on the art inventory sheet.
- WRCA Members will vote on their favorite pieces from both exhibits. The Members and Teachers Exhibits will be voted on separately.
ACCEPTED WORKS: Work must be delivered to WRCA no later than Sunday, January 28th, 2024 with the following:
- All works are automatically accepted, so long as they conform to the above application process guidelines.
- Fill out and sign an art inventory sheet: 2024 Teachers Exhibit Art Inventory Sheet (To Be Added)
- Signed Exhibiting Artist Policies (due once per year) (To Be Added)
- Complete and signed form W-9 (due once per year)
- All works must be checked in with the receptionist and an art label attached to the back of the work
HANGING STANDARDS: Work must be ready to hang with a HANGING WIRE ONLY (no dogtooth or other styles). The wire must be attached to the frame in the top third of the frame (wires close to the center point will cause the frame to hang forward, away from the wall) and the highest point the wire can reach must be a minimum of 3/4 inch from the top of the frame (otherwise the wall hook will show). Works must be framed or have painted or finished edges. Frames must be clean and in good repair. If works cannot hang acceptably, they will not be included in the exhibit.
EXHIBIT TERMS:

- Wallkill River Center for the Arts will take a 30% commission on all art sales.
- The artist can pick up a check for 70% of the sale price within 30 days of show closing.
- Sold work will remain on display until the show closes.
- The artist agrees to exhibit these works and holds harmless the volunteers and staff of WRS.
- Any damage incurred, such as broken glass or wires giving way, is the responsibility of the artist to fix.
- The artist agrees to pick-up unsold works in a timely manner. The Wallkill River School is not responsible for any paintings left in the gallery 30 days after the exhibit closes. Unclaimed works will be considered charitable contributions to our 501(c)(3) non-profit.
- We reserve the right to refuse artwork at any time for any reason.
