Location: Wallkill River Center for the Arts Gallery
Cost: $135 per student
The teachers will be sharing the week of instruction, Aedan will be teaching Monday-Wednesday and Sarah will be teaching Thursday-Friday.
Animation is the art of bringing your drawings to life! Whether you’re interested in traditional animation, game animation, anime, 3D animation, or just want to make your doodles move around with style, this class is for you. Whatever your drawing ability, you will learn how to make your drawings move and tell a story. Students will learn about the principles of animation, and how to apply their knowledge in creative ways. They’ll see how observing the natural world can bring their animation skills to the next level. Most importantly, it’s gonna be a lot of fun!
NOTE: Students must bring their own equipment and install the appropriate software before class
Materials needed:
– iPad or other similar drawing tablet
– Stylus (optional but VERY helpful)
Software needed:
– Animation App such as: Procreate, Flipaclip, etc.
Aedan Ciganek is an up-and-coming animator from the Hudson Valley. He has a passion for 2D animation, cartooning, and character design. Since 2014 he’s been honing his craft, and loves encouraging others to enter the world of animation.
Sarah Baker is an art educator in the Hudson Valley and has been teaching art for over 4 years. She received a Bachelors of Science in Art Education Degree at SUNY New Paltz in 2020 with a concentration in drawing and printmaking. She enjoys learning new art mediums and strives to pursue as many new ones as possible. Currently, she has experience with drawing, painting, ceramics, photography, printmaking, computer graphics, sculpture, crafts and digital art. Sarah’s favorites are charcoal, pencil, pen, etching and Procreate.
